Raglan is always a popular destination for aviators, as numerous choices of cafe are only a 10 minute walk from the airfield. Full meals are also a good choice at the hotel.

For overnights the adjacent motor camp has tent sites, motels and caravan sites (if your plane is big enuf to tow a caravan!). The staff at the camping ground are friendly and helpful, and the facilities are great.

Each November the famous ‘Black Sands’ fly-in is held, organised by the Waikato Chapter of the Sport Aviation Association. This is a great weekend of fellowship and flying. For those bold enough in their own aircraft, a workshop and beach landings are normally held.
